EdiP: From Raver To [UNVRS]
EdiP takes over the second edition of New Horizons with his live set from FISHER's residency at [UNVRS]. After being at the iconic Ibiza nightclub one year prior as a raver, his interview highlights the full circle moment of now DJing there, while his live set features big cuts from the likes of AYYBO, Millero, Mita Gami, Rafael, and Sapian.
Hey EdiP, thanks for joining us! We’re excited to be releasing your live set from [UNVRS] Ibiza. What do you remember most about the energy and atmosphere of that particular night?
Thanks for having me, guys! It was such an amazing night. The crowd was super energetic, and they filled up the dancefloor quite fast. What I remember the most is a group of ravers who stayed at the front from the start of my set until the end, which is amazing, especially since it was the first slot.

[UNVRS] is such a unique setting to perform in. What was it like stepping behind the decks there, and how did the crowd influence the direction of your set?
One year ago, I was at [UNVRS] for the first time as a raver, at FISHER’s party. He played my track, and I said, “Ohhh, next year I’ll do my best to be in the booth.” Fast forward a year, and I’m playing [UNVRS]’s Main Room at FISHER’s residency… stepping behind the decks of the No. 1 club in the world, man… that hits different. The crowd had a clear vibe they wanted to have fun, and they gave that vibe to me as well, so they really influenced my direction.

When preparing for a major show like this, do you go in with a clear musical plan, or do you prefer to read the room and let the set evolve naturally?
Usually, when I have a major show, I’m prepping a big playlist with potential tracks that I might play, and I use the stars on Rekordbox to match the intensity of the tracks. But I’m not a fan of making a clear order for the tracks, because every party is different, and the plan you make at home is not 100% accurate to what’s actually going to happen.

Looking back at the set, are there any particular moments or tracks that really stand out to you?

Ibiza has long been one of the most important places in electronic music. What does playing on the island mean to you personally, and what makes the Ibiza crowd special?
Indeed… Ibiza is such a magical place. The first time I went to the island was one year ago, and I immediately fell in love. To answer the question, I don’t know why it’s so special, but my first guess would be that people who come here really love clubbing and really want to have fun, and that special vibe is transferred to us, the artists who play. Without a good crowd, I feel like we artists cannot perform at our best, and Ibiza makes us perform our best sets and experiment more with the music.

Finally, what’s next for EdiP? Are there any upcoming releases, shows, or projects you’re particularly excited about?
I have a lot that I can’t talk about right now, but I’m really excited about my Asia debut tour, playing in China and South Korea for the first time. I’m also super excited about ADE. I’m really hyped about it and will be playing the HEXAGON showcase with Don Diablo. As always, I don’t know what’s next for me, but I’m sure that I’ll be giving my best in the months ahead.
