A STATE OF DANCE MUSIC 2025

In 2025, electronic music feels more alive and expansive than ever, shaped by a truly global and deeply connected scene.

Over the past year, creativity has accelerated across both the underground and mainstream, with exciting momentum and rapidly growing scenes behind deep tech & minimal, hard techno, melodic techno, neo-rave, a renewed love for trance, and hybrid live-electronic performances. New tools and faster release cycles have empowered more artists to share their music, helping local scenes break through to international audiences with unprecedented speed.

At the same time, DJs are embracing longer, more expressive sets and fearless genre-blending, reflecting a community that values depth, discovery, and shared moments. This has resulted in a year defined not by one dominant sound, but by a thriving ecosystem of styles and passionate contributors.

This year, more than 8.3 million people visited 1001Tracklists, generating nearly 79 million pageviews across the platform. We have a vibrant and highly engaged community, and we’re incredibly grateful to the dedicated contributors who help build and refine the site, making it the robust and comprehensive resource it is today.

Last year marked a major period of growth for the 1001Tracklists brand, highlighted by the launch of our record label, 1001 Recordings. We also hosted our largest events to date during Miami Music Week and ADE. With even more new concepts in the works, stay tuned for what’s coming next!
