Galoski & Ra5tik - "Shake It Down"
Galoski and Ra5tik are both friends and frequent collaborators with their music. They’re back together on a new jam called “Shake It Down” released on Dr. Shiver’s Art&Music Recording label, and we enjoyed getting further insight into how the track came about as well as some background on each artist and details on what we can expect from them this year!
Hey guys! You've worked together a few times before, so can you tell us what you like about working with one another?
Galoski: Music sounds better with friends! It’s always fun to sit in the studio, work together, share knowledge, grow up together and achieve goals.
Ra5tik: We like to learn from one another, express different ideas, and of course achieve big goals! Our music taste is similar so don't be surprised whenever you see a Galoski & Ra5tik collaboration.
How did “Shake It Down” come into existence and what was it like working together on this track?
Galoski: We wanted to make something for our live sets, something energetic and cool. We started the track online, sharing ideas back and forth. It was October 2018, Ra5tik was in Serbia and I was touring China at the time. We had one version done and then Dr. Shiver gave us some feedback and a new vision for the breakdown: that’s how we made the final touches on the track and luckily it got signed to Art&Music.
What was it like working with the Art&Music Recording team and Dr. Shiver for this track?
Galoski: Inspiring. You know that quote, “surround yourself with people who get you and push you to work harder than you did yesterday”? That is just how it is for Art&Music & Dr. Shiver. I love them as a team and I’m proud to be working with them.
Ra5tik: It's a huge honor to work with Dr. Shiver and the Art&Music Recording team. They are like a family that is constantly making you go forward and wants to see you succeed and not just to become a better artist, but to become a better person! I am proud to be part of the team!
For each of you, what is the most memorable show that you attended as a fan and what made it so special?
Galoski: DJ Snake’s show at Ultra Singapore 2018, so happy I was backstage and had the chance to meet him and see him perform. Incredible energy and charming as an artist, he’s the humblest human I’ve met.
Ra5tik: There are a few that are very special to me. Martin Garrix’s, Hardwell’s and Afrojack’s shows at Exit Festival were incredible. I also cannot forget the first time that I listened to Fedde Le Grand live at Top Hill, Budva in 2014. The atmosphere was simply amazing!
Who are some artists who are currently inspiring you?
Galoski: Axwell, Ingrosso, Alesso, DJ Snake, Diplo, Tiësto – each of them in a different way.
Ra5tik: Skrillex, Martin Garrix, DJ Snake, David Guetta and Diplo.
Any big plans for the months ahead that you can tell us about?
Galoski: When it comes to music, we have one more collaboration signed on Fedde Le Grand’s label, hopefully coming soon… and I have two solo tracks coming sooner than you think. I’m going on tour in China, Myanmar and Thailand in March and then probably late spring in Singapore, Japan and some shows across Europe.
Ra5tik: In addition to our collab signed on Darklight Recordings, I also have two tracks finished and one that I'm working on, so hopefully I will have more information on these tracks soon. As for performances, I am not allowed to say anything about that, but there will be big news soon!
