How much time goes into preparing for each episode?
Usually it takes a couple of days to select tracks, record voices, and produce an episode.

How do you select tracks for each episode?
We have an assistant who goes through tons of music and bring us 30-40 tracks of different styles ranging from house to trap. Then we choose tracks from this selection and finalize the tracklist of the upcoming episode. Somebody could say that it’s strange to include someone else in the process. But we’ve known this guy for 15 years already, so we trust him and his musical taste as much as we trust our own.

What can we expect from the 100th episode?
This episode is different from other episodes. There are many special tracks in this episode. The tracklist was done together by us and our listeners. It includes tracks we love and have been playing since the mid 90s and tracks suggested by our fans on Swanky’s socials. It was really cool to have such a collaboration. All of these tracks burn dance floors to hell. Simply check the tracklist!

How do you guys work together as producers and as DJs?
To say “everything always goes smoothly” would be a lie. We’ve been working together for more than 15 years and know every ingredient of each other’s character. Sure, sometimes we argue, but we learned to not get hurt and get a better understanding out of any discussion. This experience is important and unique for us. This is essential to our friendship.

What are some funny things about each other that we may not know?
You know, there’s so many things to tell about us. Guess you just need to spend a few days in Swanky’s studio or come on tour with us to dig deep inside. But be sure, we will make your day :)

What is it like to have your own label?
SHOWLAND Records is a part of our lives. The label was built as a base for our works and collabs, but later we decided to open it to up and coming producers. In the beginning of our careers we received a lot of help from many producers and DJs who owned their own labels and released Swanky Tunes’ tracks. Now we try to do the same for our younger brothers and sisters.

What kind of creative freedom does owning a label give you?
Producing a track is always an experiment with experience that comes from previous work. Sometimes labels are not ready to release such experiments, but listeners are ready to get them. Owning a label lets you go as you want without turning back.

What is it like working with artists who release tracks on your label?
The latest SHOWLAND artists we worked with was Russian duo Going Deeper. As you know our collaboration called “Drownin’” was released at the end of May.  Honestly that was nice and cool to have guys in our studio. Also some SHOWLAND artists have sent us very interesting drafts. You’ll probably hear new stuff soon!

What’s the biggest moment in your careers thus far?
You know, we never take our career as something that has the biggest moments. We take every achievement as a chance to go further. But if you want to know something exact, we’re really proud of all tracks and remixes we released and all shows we performed.

What does the rest of 2016 look like for you?
It looks Swanky. We have a lot of tracks to be released, a lot of planned gigs, and a lot projects to finish. We look forward to making our fans happy, putting them in good moods and delivering them a lot of good music.

Thank you guys for being with us. Now let’s get Swanky!
