This year South West Four, the biggest event in London’s clubbing calendar, returns for its 14th edition. The state of the art production combined with unmatched arena stages and booming sound levels are sure to deliver a second to none experience!
For our preview we’ve chosen to focus in on the incredible The Gallery Arena taking place on Sunday, August 27th. As most dance music lovers know, The Gallery is an institution when it comes to electronic music, hosting their own night at the world famous Ministry of Sound in London every Friday. They’re bringing their stage back to South West Four again this year after a brief hiatus and they’ve curated a world class lineup set to recreate the unforgettable vibe of The Gallery events.
Gareth Emery, who returns to his home country, is sure to unleash loads of new music on the South West Four crowd. With a massive fall tour just announced, he’s promised to play many of his unreleased music and 2018 projects at upcoming shows. He’s also no stranger to The Gallery and his long standing history includes bringing his label (Garuda) nights to The Gallery at Ministry of Sound.
Nicky Romero, who is at the tail end of his five years of Protocol Recordings celebration, is set to rock the stage on Sunday. In our recent story he crafted an hour long Exclusive Mix and discussed reaching the five year milestone with Protocol.
Markus Schulz presents Dakota. This year at South West Four Markus Schulz is bringing his dark dancefloor material as he presents his introspective and reflective Dakota project. The tech-focused material is part of his Nine Skies story focused on a nine step quest towards enlightenment and his performance promises to be a true show of artistry.
Ferry Corsten, who released his Blueprint album this year, was in London at The Gallery at Ministry of Sound for his the album launch party in May. His new album is focused on sci-fi and space exploration and, similar to Markus Schulz’s Dakota project, properly adds a narrative to the music. We can’t way to see how those tracks make their way into his Ferry Corsten set and hope to hear some of the Gouryella anthems like “Anahera” as well! Get a great sense of Ferry’s diverse production in his two hour producer set at Luminosity Beach Festival in the Netherlands!
Laidback Luke, master of live mashups and a true DJ, will bring the best of his own music, his label Mixmash’s and more to South West Four. Check out his full EDCLV set to get a full sense of his wizardry behind the decks!
Cosmic Gate, who released Chapter. One of their album Materia in January, have just premiered another outstanding Emma Hewitt collaboration titled “Tonight” and annouced Chapter. Two of Materia! The duo have a longstanding tradition with The Gallery and you can still relive some of those nights like their Christmas Party 2011 set and their incredible 3-hour 2016 set! Make sure to check back on Thursday, August 3rd when Cosmic Gate’s 1001Tracklists x South West Four Exclusive Mix drops!
Andrew Rayel, who released his second full-length studio album Moments in May of this year, is always one to deliver special mashups and tons of energy in his sets. Check out his EDCLV Mainstage closing set to help raise your excitement levels!
Ilan Bluestone B2B Andrew Bayer – The Anjunabeats stars released their massive collaboration “Destiny” earlier this year to massive support. Hometown boy Ilan Bluestone has also just released “Scars” and “Frozen Ground” with Giuseppe De Luca, with whom he previously worked on the hit track “Bigger Than Love.” Check out their landmark b2b performance from ABGT200 to get a sense of the wonder they’ll deliver.
Paul Oakenfold returns to his hometown as the very special guest at this year’s The Gallery Arena. This year he’s mixed the Dreamstate Volume 1 compilation and included three of his own originals as well as his big Jordan Suckley collab “Amnesia.” With such an illustrious career and many memorable shows at Clapham Common under his belt, seeing the legendary trance DJ and producer at South West Four is a must.
